The 2011 veggie garden update

The garden is finally up and bolting at full speed. The crappy spring weather that plagued the bay area is finally behind us with temperatures hitting the nineties.

The freebie Artichoke plants I won are thriving and look ready to be transplanted into the ground.

This is a big picture perspective of the Gen1 planter beds

And some of the Gen2 planter beds. In the picture below, you see the one plant that is doing exceptionally well in the garden- the bottle gourd. The trellis is 8 ft tall and it is already up there at the top.

A view of all our Gen2 planter beds. Seven in total with three hidden behind the hose cart.

  1. Would love to know how to build those trelisses . How have they been faring so far? Also, can you post some current pictures of your garden ? I am planning my garden out and it would be a great help. Thanks.

  2. The Trellises are holding up very well, not sure if I would go with these hemp twines again because these typically last one season. Will post some pictures shortly
